大鸕，擁有黑漆漆的外表，一臉嚴肅的迎接著外界環境各樣挑戰；其適應速度、生 命力之強在水鳥界中數一數二。大鸕喜歡捕食小魚，由於捕魚速度較其他水鳥快三 十倍，不少漁民都靠牠們幫手捉魚。可是，生命力頑強的大鸕卻在歐洲多個國家上 漸漸絕跡，事情經過到底是怎樣？
經過研究，顯示大鸕的皮毛沒有因為寒冷天氣而增厚，相對地保溫性也沒有增加。 有見及此，打從1979年開始，政府推出一連串保護大鸕生態的措施，並成功地大大 增加了大鸕的數目，由最初四千頭變成現在的七十萬頭。然而，大鸕日吃四百至五 百克鮮魚，情況叫漁民大傷腦筋。政府就此又會作出什麼對策？有兩全其美的辦法 嗎？
In the vein of Winged Migration, live the moving adventure of a brave young cormorant, whose predator, Man, is threatening his survival. An extraordinary diver with a beautiful black coat, is the great cormorant really the ecological catastrophe that some claim it to be?
In Europe, this bird's fishing expertise has caused for itself a long history of massive extermination, leaving at one point in time less than 4000 Cormorants on the continent. They had completely disappeared from their traditional breeding grounds in Denmark, Germany, Sweden and Norway.
