I attended her lecture when she was in HKU last year. It was a very enjoyable one. And remember to buy her book - "The Ten Trusts" if you want to further share her thoughts on "what we must do to care for the animals we love".

黑猩猩專家﹕港猴太胖 遊人有責

【明報專訊】在非洲研究野外黑猩猩及靈長類動物逾40年的珍古德(Jane Goodall)博士，昨日與45名小朋友前往城門郊野公園，探訪香港獮猴。她發現獮猴 普遍有肥胖問題及繁殖率增加，相信是遊客餵飼及在公園遺留食物殘渣所致。
建議禁止公園內進食
珍古德說，獮猴近年進食營養過豐的食物，令身體肥胖，「強壯」後的獮猴還會增 加繁殖次數。她呼籲遊客不要攜帶盛載食物的膠袋進入公園，並建議當局禁止遊客 在公園範圍進食，或規定遊客在室內進食。
漁護署濕地及動物護理主任黃始樂表示，該建議值得討論，可諮詢公眾。他指目前 全港有1500隻獮猴，主要集中在金山、獅子山及城門3個郊野公園。近年獮猴的繁� 瑊v增長介乎5.5%至7.8%，屬不正常的生態發展。他希望透過絕育計劃，及加強教� |市民不要餵飼的信息，可令繁殖率下降至2%至3%，維持正常繁殖速度。
