251 Barn Swallow 家燕 Mai Po 米埔 08/5/2004 EOS 10D, 400/5.6, 1.4X, Cropping
I saw 4-5 barn swallows hovered and made frequent landing on a mud puddle at the road lead to Mai Po. I looked thru the camera and saw that they were collecting mud (for nest, I suppose). Oh! The heavy rain in the morning provided barn swallows the nesting material!
I then kneed down 3-4 meters away from the mud puddle and wait for them to land. I observed for around 30 minutes.
I found that the swallows collected dry grass on the opposite river bank, came down to the mud puddle and flew to their nests (yet to be found). They came back and fro for a dozen of times.
