Have you considered the bird being a dark morph (at least mostly dark) of Little Egret?

i agree, U can just see the yellow feet of a little egret in the second photo.

我在想相片中央飛翔正橫過泥灘的是否深色型小白鷺，其特徵黃腳趾、黑腳、黑咀及體型尺寸跟小白鷺大致相同，惟牠的在飛行時頸項是伸直的，全身大範圍呈灰至深灰色，擁有白色的臉，及飛羽有很分明的Pattern！

深色型小白鷺在香港都相當罕見，而紀錄亦不多！
