Below is an enquiry received by the HKBWS about bird ID. Anyone please help!

"I attach a bird sound for yours to identify, it sounds a little bit like a Magpie Robin.

The sounds wake me up at 4 o'clock in the morning, then I going out try to found her, it is still dark outside, but I find that her size is quite small, may be similar as a Tree Sporrow, I am sure she is not a Magpie Robin. ???"

One more sound clip is received for ID:

I attach one more sound in mp3 format for your reference, it's a little bit different with the previous one, but again, she wakes me up again at 4:30am, I am going out again and only watch this small bird fly away. Tonight seems raining outside, hope she will keep silience and let me have a nice sleep.

Attached is the sound of a Mapie Robin I recorded yesterday morning (5:00am 15/5) for comparison. ::)
