Title: Re: ID Please, Thanks! Post by HF_Cheung on Jun 24th, 2004, 7:32pm Dear PL, I have seen a lot of your photo on the HKBWS Photo Gallary on birds in Mainland China. I know you are a keen birdwatcher and eager to learn. So please continue using our website if you don't mind. On the sound track, I cannot open it because I do not use quicktime. I may need somebody to convert it for me. HF Cheung |

Title: Re: ID Please, Thanks! Post by camel on Jun 25th, 2004, 7:36am Tried to search but couldn't find any freeware to convert .mov (quicktime) to windows media format. You might want to install the free quicktime player available from Apple.com (http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/). Hope that helps. |

Title: Re: ID Please, Thanks! Post by bfspoonbill on Jun 25th, 2004, 6:24pm I can only listen to them with QuickTime Player 5.6.1. MOV file can be converted to WAV by freeware RAD Video Tool at http://www.radgametools.com/bnkmain.htm. If needed, WAV file can be converted to MP3 with freeware CDex at http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/. The CDex's provided MP3 data rate can be as low as 32kbps and as high as 320kbps. e.g.: sound1.mov : 64.4kB sound1.wav : 688KB http://everwell.dynu.com:3880/BirdWatching/PL-BirdSound/sound1.wav sound1.mp3 (128k) : 252KB http://everwell.dynu.com:3880/BirdWatching/PL-BirdSound/sound1-128k.mp3 sound1.mp3 (32k) : 62.9KB http://everwell.dynu.com:3880/BirdWatching/PL-BirdSound/sound1-32k.mp3 Sound2 at 32k MP3 can be downloaded at http://everwell.dynu.com:3880/BirdWatching/PL-BirdSound/sound2-32k.mp3 and sound2 at 128k MP3 can be downloaded at http://everwell.dynu.com:3880/BirdWatching/PL-BirdSound/sound2-128k.mp3 Hope you can identify them. I'm too green to guess. |
