Title: Oriental Stork ?¡@ªF¤è¥ÕÆ|¡H
Post by BLee on Oct 28th, 2004, 11:18pm
All,
Today at 2:45pm over sheung pai lai (lau fau shan), I saw 2 huge water birds flying. One of them its wing is white in color with a black tip. The wings are wide. Sorry I cannot identify its bill and legs 'cos they were too far away. They were bigger than grey heron great egret. Therefore, I supposed it could be an oritental stork. Any comment ?
???

All,
I observed that the tip of BFS's wing was also black. Could it be a BFS over sheung pak lai (lau fau shan)?

The bill of a stork is very different from that of a spoonbill.  The extent of black on the wing tip is also not the same. You may like to refer to the field guide.
