Title: Warbler ID pls. Post by stanley_fok on Nov 23rd, 2004, 12:01am Any idea? Was it Yellow-browed/Eastern Crowned/Blyth's Leaf/other Warbler? Thanks in advance. http://www.geocities.com/sthfok/warbler0001.jpg |

Title: Re: Warbler ID pls. Post by Koel_Ko on Nov 24th, 2004, 5:08am If I may guess. From the location of the bird (not on a thick trunk, but thin twig) I think it's not likely to be a Blyth's leaf Warbler. The rotund shape, along with the strong wingbar (the second might be obscured) may suggest Pallas' rather than Yellow-browed or Eastern Crowned. If it did hover, then going for Pallas' wouldn't be too bad if the light conditions continued to be as displayed. |

Title: Re: Warbler ID pls. Post by miket on Nov 24th, 2004, 8:37pm The way the supercilium appears broad in front of the eye, and also appears (at least) to be yellow, strongly suggests Pallas's Warbler. Mike Turnbull |
