Just curious to know as I'm quite sure I saw a Shrike at Kowloon Park last Sun. because of the black eyestripe, but not so sure if that was a Brown Shrike or Long-tailed Shrike. Can anyone tell me, please?

剛過去的星期日在九龍公園看到一隻伯勞, 是紅尾伯勞或棕背伯勞的可能性較大嗎? 有人可以解答一下嗎? 謝謝.

Dear Cran

There are several birds with black eyestripes.

Can you describe anything else about the bird?

Also you could try looking it up in a Bird book - either the Photographic Guide to the birds of Hong Kong or Field Guide to the birds of Hong Kong and Soth China are available in many bookshops and should help to answer your question.

I have seen a Brown Shrike on May last year!

I noticed that this Shrike (I've seen Long-tailed Shrike before, so I'm quite sure it's a Shrike) got paler colour than a Long-tailed Shrike, so just wonder if anyone seen Brown Shrike or Long-tailed Shrike before at Kln Park. Anyway, thx for Mike's reply and Sze's photo.

這一次的伯勞較棕背伯勞顏色淡, 所以想問一下有冇人在九龍公園見過紅尾伯勞或棕背伯勞. 無論如何, 多謝Mike的回覆和 Sze 的相.
