Title: Re: Bird ID, please Post by kumanfai on Apr 22nd, 2005, 11:43pm I am a newbie just trying to participate. Please excuse me if my suggestion looks like a wild guess. Can it be one of the reed buntings e.g. Chinese Reed Bunting judging from the plumage of its black head and light brownish breast, and more importantly in this case the beak shape? Ku |

Title: Re: Bird ID, please Post by kumanfai on Apr 23rd, 2005, 1:25am Second thought. The beak is slighted decurved at the tip which is not consistent with that of a bunting. Furthermore, it is less round than that of a bunting. Hence, I would change my suggestion to a stonechat. Ku |

Title: Re: Bird ID, please Post by cupid on Apr 23rd, 2005, 10:47pm Ku, Madsen & CarrieMa, Thank you very much for your input. I do believe it is a common stonechat. The color different may be caused by lighting source. Million thanks for your attention, Cupid |
