Title: Re: Common buzzard? Post by Anguslau on Oct 29th, 2005, 8:50pm Agree with Kwok Jai's observations. This looks like yet another juvenile Bonelli's for this year! Its feather is broken (or molting?) and under wing pattern different from the other two juveniles that we saw. :) |

Title: Re: Juv Bonelli's Post by Paul Leader on Oct 29th, 2005, 11:51pm Whilst I agree that this is Bonelli's Eagle is it not a juvenile. The pluamge is not rich enough and like most raptors, juveniles do not show active moult like this bird. I think it is a second year bird (ie hatched last year). |
