That should be a moth (天蛾科?), often wrongly identify as a bird (some even say hummingbird, which never occurs in HK) Apart from this moth, sometimes small birds like Sunbirds might at first glance looks similar.

Anyway, it's a good photo and you can try to ask insects experts or try the HKInsect.net.

this is a hummingbird hawk moth, a very common moth in HK that always get mistaken as a hummingbirds!! ;D
