Title: Re: Is it Common Swift ?? Post by HF_Cheung on Jul 3rd, 2006, 8:38pm This is Little Swift. The white on the rump rules out common. The unforked tail rules out Pacific. Little Swift is the commonest type of swift breeding in HK. So far, there is no confirmed report of Pacific Swift and Common Swift breeding in HK. Although using flash is not recommanded at close distances, I think the flash in this photo is not excessively strong, and I believe the photo is taken at day time. HF Cheung |

Thanks for the clarification - I thought it was very close judging from the lens and size of the bird. I think it should be ok. :) |
