Title: Re: Birds in Tibet - Pleas help ID Post by Mike Kilburn on Aug 28th, 2006, 12:21am The first bird is a juvenile Guldenstadt's Redstart (sometimes known as White-winged Redstart, but this is a very boring name!) This big beautiful Redstart loves high altitudes more than any other redstart. The next two pix are both juvenile Horned Larks. This has a much more interesting alternative name - Batman - because of the black mask and small black horns shown by adult birds. Did yu manage to photograph any of the endemic Tibetan species? Cheers Mike K |

Title: Re: Birds in Tibet - Pleas help ID Post by felixcat on Aug 28th, 2006, 11:13pm Thanks Mike for ID and sharing. I wish I could have captured other bird photos than those I posted but these are what I can have in a sightseeing package tour. I think it is necessary to have another trip for solely birding there ;). |
