Chebarliang brief report Part B

Remarks :

A) Interesting spots
-Outside kitchen, Corridor on 3rd floor of the Museum, The balcony in your room
B) Place must go - ¡§Hundred Birds Forrest¡¨ (trail behind the Museum), Bridge ¡V the main road to Kernel Area, Road from Headquarter to the bridge
C) Useful Experience
-Bring soft toilet paper (must) , snacks; fresh fruit¡Kthe nearest shop is 20+KM away ( the shop attached to the hotel is closed in winter) . We bought them in Shixing.
-Check the weather forecast (www.f7online.com, good forecast but only in Chinese)
-Good assistance from Mr. Zhang Xin Weng, Manager of Tourist Department,
-Warm air from the air conditioner in your room is too weak. If you still feel very cold, please ask Mr. Zhang to arrange a ¡§home made heater¡¨ in your room (take care of the carbon monoxide).
-It is very convenient to buy the ticket to Shaoguan (K584 1016/1552 HK$141-) through China Travel Service in Hong Kong . Return ticket (K583 1043/1600 RMB128-) is easily bought when u arrive Shaoguan (except during the public holidays in China).
-Reserve sometime to let Mr. Zhang Xin Weng brings you to see the mysterious shadow(s) of ¡§White Eared Night Heron (Hainanhubanjian)¡¨.
-Must try the fresh mushroom, bean curd/tofu ( use the local big bean from the ¡§Miao¡¨ minority), special recommended the lower part of a vegetable ( I don¡¦t know in English but you just say ¡§CAI TOU¡¨ they will understand).

Due to the very bad weather and not much experience in birding, 45 species is quite satisfy to us.. Chebarliang is a nice place to recommend for a short break and it is worth for the price. Hope you will have a nice holiday and good birding in Chebarliang.
