Yesterday was a good day at Long Valley with a few migrants and lots of variety:

Chinese Penduline Tit 28 (female with ring)
Citrine Wagtail (female) 1
Oriental Pratincole 2
Red-rumped Swallow 1
Little Bunting 50
Dusky Warbler 1
Kestrel 1
Buzzard 1
Grey Starling 40
Silky Starling 30
BN Starling (nest building)
Pintail Snipe 1 (rare at LV this winter)
Fantail Snipe 15
Wood Sandpiper 50
Yellow Wagtail 60
White Wagtail 2 (ocularis)
Richard'sPipit 5
OBP 5
Red-throated Pipit 8
Fantail Warbler 6
Waterhen 1
+ more common birds.

The Cirtine wagtail is quite easy to see - it has yellow cheeks and the whole face looks yellow as a result. Even the brightest of the Yellow wagtails show dark cheeks /ear coverts.

Dear Mike,

I do it in this way:
Click the 'Add feature tags/add image button'
It's the forth button on the second column from left. When clicked, a line like
[-img]URL[-/img] was shown in the message field. (I've add a '-' , if not the script worked)

Then paste the photo URL (the link) in between. Hope this helps.

Where are the watercocks usually found - are they around the pond with the painted snipes?

Long Valley continues to be interesting

8 Penduline Tits still in the cabbage field
1 male Bluethroat near the lotus ponds
3 Oriental Pratincoles
3 Painted Snipe (top meander - 10 on Tuesday)
1 Buzzard
1 Red-billed Starling (only)

+3 Pied Kingfisher (successful breeding nr Ho Sheung Heung)
