Title: Spoon-billed Sandpiper
Post by Samson So on May 7th, 2003, 12:00pm
Dear all,

Friends of mine told me that Spoon-billed Sandpiper was seen in pond 16/17 yesterday, and in pond 20 the day before yesterday.  Both sightings were during high tide period.

Seize the day!

Cheers,
Samson

Hi Daniel,

Good question.  My reply as below:

Pond 16/17
Excellent for viewing through telescope, not a problem for digi-scoping, quite difficult for traditional telephoto lens (unless with stacked teleconvertor and digital SLR), look very similar as Red-neck Stint through binoculars, didn't look like a bird with naked eyes...

Pond 20
The closest distance of the species my friends have ever seen!  Should be able to produce clear image even with traditional telephoto lens (I mean those super teles...)
I only had a 300mm at that time so...

By the way, pond 8 should also be quite productive...

Good luck.
Samson
