Title: Ng Tung Chai productive again
Post by Mike Kilburn on Nov 18th, 2003, 9:48am
This morning Ng Tung Chai was again extremely productive. Between 7:10 and 8:30  hours I saw/heard the following birds:

Olive-backed Pipit
(2 near big arch)

Grey Wagtail

Ashy Minivet
(female with Crested Bulbuls near big arch. This is a very late record, but curiously the second record in Hong Kong this week - the other was from Lamma or Cheung Chau - I can't remember)

Chestnut Bulbul (several heard, one seen)

Lesser Shortwing
(singing about 300m past temple - hopped onto path, responded to pishing)

Pygmy Wren-babbler
(2 birds - one seen singing from rain-soaked branches of fallen tree at the first small gully about 500m along the path from the temple)

Red-flanked Bluetail(1 above temple)

Mountain Tailorbird
(just above the temple - responded extremely well to pishing)

Yellow-browed Warbler(h)
Pallas' Warbler (h)
Chinese Blue Magpie (h - near NTC village)
Black-throated Laughing Thrush (4)
Pekin Robin (8-10)
Rufous-capped babbler(2)
Silver-eared Mesia (c.10)
Streak-breasted Scimitar Babbler( 2)

Cheers
Mike

This morning there was a Red-tailed Robin in Ng Tung Chai about 200m above the village.
