17/11 8.30am 4 chinese greenfinchs in a tree eating brown fruits at the entrance of On King Street Park in Shatin
3/12 4.30pm about 8 chinese greenfinchs in the same tree eating for 45 min.
18/12 4.30pm same tree eating for about 45 min. again.

On King Park is next to Ravana Garden in Shatin.

I am a new birder start birding 6th Noc. Now discovered
32 species in On King Park, including Oliver-backed pipit, dusky warbler, stonechat, Yellow-bellied Prinia, night heron, kingfisher, blackbird and many other common birds. It is a good site for watching egrets too!!

The lower Shing Mun River bank along Cityone and Shatin Race Course is a strong hold of the the Oriental Greenfinch in Hong Kong. Its characteristic call can be heard quite easily although the greenfinches in Shatin are usually quite shy.

In 1997, we actually picked up one greenfinch chick "at home"!
