I've just got back from Chebaling in the north of Guangdong. (Many thanks to Mike Kilburn for recommending the reserve.) We saw the silhouette of the White-eared Night Heron at dusk but were not able to see any details. According to the log book quite a few HKBWS members have visited Chebaling. Has anybody had a clear view of the WENH? How sure can I be that that is what we saw? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
