In the Chinese Magazine "Civilization ¤å©ú", issue 2004 no.3, it was reported that 500-600 Chinese Egret come to "Sea Ass Island ®üÆj®q" (an island just outside the tip of the Shandong Peninsula) to breed.  There are excellent pictures of the bird and its juvenile.  It is also amazing that the article reports of the absence of Chinese Egret in HK since 1980 (of course this is not true, only the breeding birds are absent).  The author has done some research on the status of this bird.
