Title: Long Valley 塱原 2005 Spring 春

This morning the following birds were seen at Long Valley:

Ruddy Crake - 2 (possibly 3)[update: 2 seen after 6:30]
Baillon's Crake - 1
Water Rail - 1 (not seen by me)[update: seen at 6:45pm]

Thanks to Kwok-jai for finding the crakes - they showed very well on the big muddy pond 100m north of the lotus ponds.

Painted Snipe - 2
Swintail Snipe - 5
Fantail Snipe - 3

Sharp-tailed Sandpiper - 1

Little Bunting - several

Red-rumped Swallow - 3
Asian House Martin - 1

White-shouldered Starling - 20+
Indian Cuckoo -1 heard

Today between 1100-1300

Sharp-tailed Sandpiper - 1
White-shouldered Starling - 2
Common Pheasant - 1
Fantail Snipe - 10

No sign of the snipe unfortunately :(

Long-tailed Shrike x 9 (2 juv. / 1 dusky)
White-shouldered Starling (1male/1female-breeding?)
Little Green Heron x 1 (juv.)
White-breasted Waterhen x 12 !!
