Jennifer want to report that the Red-crowned Crane pair at ZB Garden are now sitting on Eggs.  Fleggings are expected very soon.  This may be good opportunities for photo.

From my understanding, "fledging" is an adjective to describe the status of the new born chick. Therefore fledging period means the interval between hatching and leaving nest.
"Fledgling" is a noun which descibe the bird just left their nest. But I havn't heard of "flegging"
Another word which always confuse us is "nesting" & "nestling".
"Nesting" means nest building, but "nestling" is the new born chick which stay in the nest.
