Title: Re: Red-crowned Crane sitting on eggs 動植物公園丹 Post by Gary on May 14th, 2005, 11:57am From my understanding, "fledging" is an adjective to describe the status of the new born chick. Therefore fledging period means the interval between hatching and leaving nest. "Fledgling" is a noun which descibe the bird just left their nest. But I havn't heard of "flegging" Another word which always confuse us is "nesting" & "nestling". "Nesting" means nest building, but "nestling" is the new born chick which stay in the nest. Gary |
