Title: Re: Birds from Tibet (1) Post by Koel_Ko on Sep 4th, 2005, 5:12pm It's a wonderful capture! I takes more than skill to approach any pheasant to that degree. :) |

Title: Re: Birds from Tibet (1) Post by HF_Cheung on Sep 5th, 2005, 11:49am First, it was early in the morning, the birds were finding food and eating, and therefore very slow in response. Second, the bird was not alone. There were about 8 of them, including one female. The bird in the photo seems to be the leader, and need to act like a leader by standing on guard in the opening. This is necessary to impress a female in the breeding season. The photo is taken in May. Third, I have anticipated the route of the group and move ahead of the flock to wait for them to come in. There were sufficient cover from the landscape and bushes to allow me to move, unnoticed by the flock. Fourth, I was lucky. This element is involved in most good widelife photograph. May be others can share their experience too. |
