The Hainan Forestry Department (海南省林業局野生動植物自然保護中心) organized the 3rd coastal waterbird survey from 19 to 22 January.

The survey included three routes: Eastern, Western and Middle (see map). Supported initiated by KFBG and the forestry department (plus key members of the establishing Hainan Bird Watching Society), I had a chance to join one of the three survey teams to conduct a 3.5-days survey along the eastern route from Haikou to Sanya.

5 new species were added to the Hainan list, there was some relevant news report provided by the organizer, at the links below:
