【法新社】台灣新竹空軍基地槍傷一隻國際一級瀕危動物丹頂鶴，並隱瞞近兩個月，引發民眾強烈不滿。這隻七十年來第一次在台灣出現的吉祥鳥，在台灣出現時曾引起觀鳥潮，擁有眾多熱情鳥迷，被稱為「丹丹」。 >:(

丹丹九月十六日被台空軍驅鳥槍擊中，身中六彈，經台北動物園搶救後現情況穩定，但仍有三顆鉛彈未取出。台空軍強調基地驅鳥實有必要，他們的幻影戰機就曾經於九九年因引擎吸入鳥類失事，台國防部則對誤傷丹丹表示遺憾。」

The first Red-crowned Crane to appear in Taiwan for 70 years was shot by the Taiwanese Air Force at Hsin-chu on 16 Sep 04 while doing bird control. The case was not revealed until 2 months later. The bird got 6 lead shots, 3 of which could not be removed.

貓頭鷹雙生兒在訓練員發號施令後，兩鳥一致將頭部旋轉二百七十度，樣子趣致。

One simply can't image what the Taiwan air force is doing....
To drive away bird in Airport, authority should use blank cartridges. The big bangs from the blank shots are good enough.

In this case, they worried that the bird will interfere the jets....how about the metal pellets fired from the gun?
These pellets can be "sucked" into jet engine and cause damages too..........
