I plan to have trekking and birding in Nov. For birding, I know from the web http://www.allnepal.com/nepal_birdwatching.htm that Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve & Chitwan National Park are good for birdwatching.

Anyone here have any idea/suggest to share?

I found another organization in Nepal which is the biggest and oldest membership based civil society dedicated to the interest of ornithologists and bird watching in Nepal, Bird Conservation Nepal (BCN) http://www.birdlifenepal.org/

They organize birding trips inside to Kathmandu Valley, which I won't visit in this Nov :(

Hope to see your sharings in Nov/Dec.
I have been Chitwan on Jan 01 for bird watching and photography with AFS300/4+TC20E. I had captured some birds but the quality was not good enough. My link of Nepal attached below is for your reference.

Thanks for your sharing. Your website is always amazing and I am very expecting my trip to Nepal. Of course, I am more than happy to share afterwards. Apart from Chitwan NP, I plan to visit Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve and probably stay in this camphttp://www.aquabirds.com.np/

To me, it is my first time to enjoy birding abroad. Can you share more experience and preparation work before trip with us? I'll bring my AFS300/4 as well, which is more handy I think. Anything else you would suggest?

Hi Felix,

I’m sorry for late reply. As far as knowing that you are using F5, I would suggest you bringing more stocks of print film (or slide?), battery etc. You should also be cautious to carry your equipment if you are planning for trekking.

I also recommend you to bring the TC14E although it is bit short for bird photography. I had 300/4+TC20E only in Nepal last time. The quality was poor for my taste for bird photos while it is much better with 300/4+TC14E in my another trip to Kenya.

Anyway, let’s enjoy and don’t forget to share with us this exciting trip later.

I have visited your Kenya's pages (http://www.geocities.com/dc_kenya2001/). Very impressive and highly recommended.

With my F5, I will take around 50 rolls of films (RDP mainly and some RHP for some cases and some RVP for landscape). Yes, many batteries required for such a battery killer as F5. Now I don't have a TC-14E and I am looking for an used one even without your advice.

Definitely, I am pleased to share but I am afarid my photos may not be so good. Anyway, thanks again.

I am back from Nepal last Friday and had a wonderful trekking+birding experience there (esp in Koshi Tappu).

Thank you for Webcreeper's suggestion and I stayed in Koshi Camp for 4 days. The naturalist there, Som, is very nice and professional. I enclose the checklist/trip report prepared by Som as below for your reference.
