Title: Bilingual bird and place names help everyone Post by Mike Kilburn on Nov 1st, 2002, 7:04pm Dear photographers If you are able, please could you use English and Chinese names for birds in the title of your emails. My OS does not recognize Chinese characters so I and many non-Chinese birders do not know the bird photo being posted on the website. Also In the photo caption please give the location in English and Chinese so that birders from all over (not just Chinese Speakers) will know where you took your photo. The web is global and I am sure people all over the world will be interested in your photos and giving both the name and locations may encourage more people to come to Hong Kong to enjoy our birds. Thank you for helping to make good birds and excellent photos more accessible for everyone! Mike |

Title: Re: Bilingual bird and place names help everyone Post by Forrest FONG on Nov 1st, 2002, 10:01pm As suggested by our Vice Chairman, please try to post your photo with bird and place names in both English and Chinese as per the example below. Thank you for your cooperation. Forrest |
