Title: Re: Verditer Flycatcher 銅藍鶲 Post by KK Hui on Feb 5th, 2003, 11:22am Daniel, Looks like a tough assignment ... You had done well using full flash! I like the first and last photos however. I think you can improve the first one by cropping it into vertical and get rid of bright 'windows' on its left altogether. Best kk ----------- http://www.geocities.com/kkhui_001 |

Title: Re: Verditer Flycatcher 銅藍鶲 Post by Daniel CK Chan on Feb 5th, 2003, 2:14pm KK, many thanks for your words. ;) I had used Av mode with -1/3 BB flash, i.e. I intended to capture the background light although the great contrast of white sky and dark tree-shadow was so unpleasant. The object was also close to the leaf branches. These finally make it look like a full flash photo. :( Should I try -1 BB flash next time? Best Daniel |

I do think that you can get away with -1 stop flash compensation in this case. A slightly darker BG will in fact be working to your advantage ... Best kk --------------- http://www.geocities.com/kkhui_001 |
