Title: Eurasian Collared Dove 灰斑鳩 Post by Forrest FONG on Feb 23rd, 2003, 7:06pm 708.5 Eurasian Collared Dove 灰斑鳩 Fung Lok Wai (Tsim Bei Tsui) 豐樂圍 (尖鼻咀) 23/2/2003 L77 + 995 8) Two Eurasian Collared Doves were seen at the fishponds near the bridge. They have similar size with Spotted Dove but their body color are very plain & even lighter than the Red Collar Dove. Title: Re: Eurasian Collared Dove ??? Post by Mike Kilburn on Feb 28th, 2003, 1:28pm Another good way to separate the two species is that Red Turtle Dove is small and has a shorter tail. - Also a good way to separate from Spooted dove if the birdis faraway or in silhouette. Cheers Mike |

Title: Re: Eurasian Collared Dove 灰斑鳩 Post by BERNARD on Feb 28th, 2003, 6:31pm Tsim Bei Tsui 尖鼻咀, mid December, 2002. Contrast slightly exaggerated. www.geocities.com/hbirdk/KITEandDOVE.JPG http://www.hkbws.org.hk/fileServer/PhotoG/bernade/bernadeecdove01.jpg I think this bird is also a Collared Dove. It has been around for a while. It probably becomes a resident bird in Tsim Bei Tsui. |
