This shot of a Great Egret in its breeding plumage and with green lores was taken late last week at MPNR 米埔. Fill flash applied ...

Very beauitful and excellent shot!:o

I saw her green face too today. Many thanks for your sharings. I only hope that the grey heron was not at the background although it does not influence the high quality of this artistic photo!

BTW, is it good to use Velvia with +1 for your other shots? I am waiting for the Velvia 100F.......... :P

the eye colour is unnatural. how can it be avoided?

Too bad if you don't like the 'red eye' effect but I like it myself - it's so special! ;D

Two ways to get rid of it however are:
a) clone it out with PS, or
b) reduce the fill flash intensity further and use a flash arm to extend it well above the lens axis
