Title: Re: Yellow-bellied Prinia ???? Post by Mike Kilburn on Mar 6th, 2003, 9:44am Sorry Danieal This one is also a Plain Prinia. I did not make myself clear last time about the supercilium. If you check in the HK Field Guide you will see that Yellow-bellied Prinia has a short white supercilium that is clearly marked Plain Prinia has a longer, broader and much less distinct supercilium as your photo shows well. Even though both prinias are common it does take careful looking especially when you have YB Prinia in its more plain and less contrasting winter plumage and Plain Prinia in Summer Plumage(When they have a greyish head). Cheers Mike |

Title: Re: Yellow-bellied Prinia 灰頭鷦鶯 Post by Daniel CK Chan on Mar 6th, 2003, 1:28pm Mike, It is quite difficult to distinguish without hearing their voices in the field. Anyway, Many thanks for your clarification. ;) Best Daniel |
