Title: Common Greenshank 青腳鷸 Inflight 飛行 Post by KK Hui on Mar 28th, 2003, 1:07pm 130 Common Greenshank 青腳鷸 Mai Po 米埔 25/3/2003 EOS-10D EF500/4L IS + EF1.4x http://www.hkbws.org.hk/fileServer/PhotoG/kkhui/kkhuigshank01.jpg This flight shot of Greenshank was taken at MPNR on 25 Mar 03. The speed of these little birds is incredible. Precise panning with them is the key to the success of this shot ;) Best kk -------------- http://www.geocities.com/kkhui_001 |

Title: Re: Greenshank Inflight Post by Lynx on Mar 28th, 2003, 8:05pm KK, Beautiful shot! I like the way they line up and fly :D I am seriously considering the 10D. Are you shots taken with AF-servo? Is 10D's AF system still working with the 1.4X added? I don't have the money to buy EF500/4. I hope the combination of 10D + EF100-400 + 1.4X II would have AF.... ??? I am green to Canon system. |

Except the top models such as the digital EOS-1D & 1Ds and film SLR EOS-3 & 1v, you have AF only with lens equals or faster than f/5.6. So 10D will not auto focus with 100-400IS + 1.4x combo! AI Servo AF was used for the above shot. Hope it helps ... Best kk --------------- http://www.geocities.com/kkhui_001 |

Title: Re: Greenshank Inflight Post by TUNG on Mar 29th, 2003, 12:46am They are Common Greenshanks. You can see what the colour of the bill is. |

Title: Re: Greenshank 青腳鷸 Inflight 飛行 Post by KK Hui on Mar 29th, 2003, 8:35am Thanks to Tung's confirmation! The heavier, slightly upturned bill and its color plus the fact that large part of its legs was not trailing behind the tail when in flight give it away ... It's a Greenshank [Tringa nebularia] ;D Best kk ------------- http://www.geocities.com/kkhui_001 |
