Title: Re: Baya Weaver 黃胸織布鳥 Post by Forrest FONG on Apr 6th, 2003, 7:16pm I guess fill flash was used and therefore it looks a little bit unnatural. Anyway, Good shot! ;D Forrest 8) |

Title: Re: Baya Weaver 黃胸織布鳥 Post by cywong on Apr 10th, 2003, 9:26pm Thanks to Forrest for his comment. In fact, I had taken some shots with the Baya Weaver without fill flash before I did it with flash, because I was not sure whether the bird would still be there after I installed the speedlight. This is the picture taken without fill flash but with +2 exposure compensation. http://www.geocities.com/cywong5555/img_2856s.jpg http://www.hkbws.org.hk/fileServer/PhotoG/cywong/cywongbweaver03.jpg I preferred to use fill flash in ths situation because 1) the silky appearance of the plumage produced by fill flash is more appealing ( but this may be subjective) 2)the details of the bird can be lit up when the background is bright. This is obvious when the 2 photos are compared. The question may be how much fill flash should be used to create the optimum effect and this is what I have to learn. I should be grateful if experienced bird photograhers could give their advice. |
