Title: Bonelli's Eagle 白腹山鵰 IN FLIGHT per 648's post Post by Daniel CK Chan on Dec 26th, 2003, 11:03pm 083 Bonelli's Eagle 白腹山鵰 Mai Po Nature Reserve 米埔自然保護區 26/12/2003 10D+500+1.4x http://www.danielckchan.com/b20030381.jpg Dear all, Here come another shot of this bird. 648 should have another one which was taken a second before this shot. I agree with Tung that it is juvenile Imperial Eagle. What do you think? Let's continue to suggest the species. Thanks. |

Title: Re: BONELLI'S EAGLE IN FLIGHT 白腹?s鵰 (per 648's Post by Mike_Kilburn on Dec 27th, 2003, 12:29am I agree with Tung and Daniel Why? The colour of the head and breast is rather creamy and the feathers look shaggy. In my experience Bonellis's is either a darker brown on subadult birds or has clar black underwing coverts on adult birds. There is also a young Bonelli's Eagle around this winter but there is one very good feature - it has leather jesses on each ankle - it has escaped from a falconer. It would be great if one of you guys could photograph that bird. I have seen it in the Pond 20 area. Cheers Mike K |
