A good start for 2004.
Saw this little fellow (size: 4") in a large bird-wave. It was quite easy to spot as it hovered frantically very like a Humming-bird. Luckily it stayed for 10+ minutes, enough time to get a few shots!

Enjoy!

Lynx.

Yes, I've installed the software. These pictures were taken in RAW format, the quality is much better than before. The only problem now is I've to buy larger Compact Flash! Very expensive stuff!!! >:(

We also saw a flock of 3 to 4 Rufous-Faced Warblers in Tai Po Kau following the sighting by PWMK. We saw it at about 4:30pm last Sunday. The spot where we met this species was located just distal  to the huge path-blocking rock at the red trail.  It seems that birdingwise, TaiPoKau is also very  fruitful in the afternoon especially towards 4 to 5:30pm.  :)
We first met this species in An Ma Shan鞍馬山 of Taiwan in August 2002. Almost a dozen of them were seen within 2 to 3 meters at eye level, seemingly  not an excessively shy bird.  It is nice to be able to greet these old friends in Hong Kong again.  :D

Which is picnic site  No 1?

Is this an AFCD numbering system?

It would be helpful for everyone to use the same numbering for the picnic sites.

Could I suggest :

No 1 : near the dam and toilet block

No 2: The big picnic site on the Red walk

No 3: the small site where you stay left and cross the bridge to stay on the red walk - also known as the rhodoleia grove.

I don't know of any more.

Please let me know if you agree or disagree

Mike,

It is just as you said.
The Warbler was very close to the Dam, around 8am.

Good Luck :)
