Transportation to the birding site for a EF600/4 is not a insurmountable problem to me. What I worry most about the lost of mobility is the movement within birding positions and quick reaction :( Walking freely along a birding path is always a great enjoyment to me and I don't want to lose it yet.

Thanks, Hendrix. I have seen both the AFS500/4 as well as EF500/4IS in the shop you mentioned. Will make up mind shortly!
