btw, where does this bird come from?  An escape?

May be escape .

but the " Field Guide to the Birds of China" said it is also in south of China & HK ???

It also in page 4 of HK & S China bird Guide ::)

There were only a few adult Chestnut-tailed Starlings in the spring of 2003 in Kowloon Park. They were very agile and aggressive and good at hunting for food. Its beak could hold several worms at the same time. Therefore, they propagated very successfully and there were a lot of juvenile Chestnut-tailed Starlings in Kowloon Park in the last summer. As a result, there are now a lot of adult Chestnut-tailed Starlings in Kowloon Park.
