No. 2 is the problem...
Is this a cattle egret or Intermediate egret? ???

That beats me............will you call it long or short?
I only knew how to tell a little egret from other egret.....
any more tips? :-[ :-[

I think you are right.
They are Plain Prinia and Great Egret.

The neck of Cattle Egret is shorter and can hardly form the "S" shape shown in your photo.

Notice that the gape line (end of the beak) stops under the eye, which indicates Intermediate Egret. The bill also looks shorter than that of Great Egret.
