I have got this scene and see other stilt mating photo too :D

I think the female pose on first photo is the way she said, " yes , you can do it. " ;)

I was test running my new lens and trying to get used to it. ;D One thing I found was that even with a 600 plus teleconverters, I am still not close enough to the birds most of the time if I shoot from the bird hides along side the ponds. Any suggestions on spots that I can try within MPNR outside of the hides?

I heard that a 3rd bird hide is now in the works on the mudflat. The new hide should allow closer contacts with the birds during lower tides. I wonder if the new hide will have more user-friendly facilities for photographers compared to the existing hides, such as flexible portholes for long lenses to allow unobstructed views of the birds over a much wider angle? ???

Hi George_Ho, 瞬,

Thanks for the comments and interests. Actually it is not that difficult to witness their mating. There are quite a few pairs in the MPNR ponds. If you spend a morning in one of bird hides during their mating season (last couple of months), you should be able to see it quite easily. I didn't quite notice their courting rituals.

By the way, some chicks has hatched lately as shown in Daniel's posts. I saw one this morning too. There should be more hatching shortly, as I saw some are still incubating their eggs.
