10D, EF75-300mm

Just 2 months, the 300mm needs repairing. :(
Now I have to use EF75-300mm instead.

Oh, what happened? the IS break down?

by the way, I cannot view the photo at home if you host them at taiwan website.......

The 10D shows "Error 01" when 300mm is used.
According to the instruction manual, it means "clean the lens contacts".
We cleaned it afterwards but it was no use. Therefore, we took it to Canon for repairing. ::)
However, I wonder why you can't view the pictures. ???

I think this is a problem encoutered by many folks..like Hendrix....

I have to use the Server's IP in order to access the web...

Hi Carman & md_domchan,

It is noted that the Kite Centre website has blocked the access by some ISP. The computers in HKBWS Office also can't view the photo's kept in Kite Center because we are using Hutchison Broadband which is one of the ISP being blocked.

Hendrix's problem is different. It is the problem within IE running on Mac OS. :P

Here is my reply regarding the DNS problem... ::)

改網路設定的 DNS 伺服器不太建議. 雖然可用在 ISP 連線上, 但是這方法不適合公司網路用.

除了可直接打上 IP 作網址外, 可考慮改 Windows 內的 Host Table. Windows 2000/XP 都有一個名為 "hosts" 的檔案放在 "\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc" 的. 用記事本開啟這檔案. 在最末一行加上

210.240.6.6 kite.center.kl.edu.tw

儲存後便可直接以 "http://kite.center.kl.edu.tw/" 進入的了.

I have just changed ISP to Hutchison. There is no problem in DNS resolving. The three pictures linked in Carmen's original message can be seen instantly.

BTW, I don't think HGC would block sites like center.edu.tw. For Win2K/XP, please go to START->RUN and then type in "cmd.exe". After seeing the black window, please enter text inside the quotes "ping kite.center.kl.edu.tw". If you can see ip number in the following line, e.g. "Pinging ms6.center.kl.edu.tw [210.240.6.6] with 32 bytes of data:", there is no DNS problem.

If you can see "Reply from 210.240.6.6: bytes=32 time=358ms TTL=44" in the subsequent lines, there is no linkage problem to the target server.

If you still cannot see photos, it is web server access problem or a port blocking problem or a IE blocked site (maybe due to certificate...).
