Beautiful picture! I wonder if this bird was ringed in Hong Kong.

Beside a few combinations (orange / yellow, white + orange / yellow, white +blue ...etc.) of leg-flags on waders, I have a very limited knowlege about bird ringing. As your shot is very nice and clear. I'm curious to know more about this bird. Why was it ringed? Is it a migrant? Or it is a resident...etc. ?
Does anyone know the related webpages (as more than 300,000 sites are listed about bird ringing)? I have mislaid some related information. I wonder if someone from the Ringing Group or the Black Kite research group can tell us more.

Thanks
Jemi

I am interested as well.

Are bird ringings different for waders and raptors?

I have this link about bird ringing for waders and hope other experts can tell us more.

Thanks Felix for the photograph and close up cropping.  Until now, The origin of this Black Kite with green band was still unknown.   Let's keep monitoring.

Etta
