Experienced birder please tell if I am wrong with the ID.

Certainly not a good shot but a record shot of this raptor. This is my first time to see the species If the ID is right.

Would someone could tell if this is spotted eagle or not?!? I am not quite sure. ???

Hi Daniel, yours is a Spotted Eagle. However, the color of your photos is a little bit strange. The bird should look darker in the field.

Usually, Spotted Eagle is being seen at the high sky. The far away distance and backlight conditions make us difficult to see its color clearly. However, we always id it based on its wing shape (sudden narrowed wing depth near the body), the proportion of its head, wing depth & tail (0.5:1:0.5) and its white U on upper tail coverts. I hope all you can find out these features in Daniel's stunning photos and my poor photos. :P

Forrest, thanks for explanation and I know more about it. Yes, it was in backlight condition and always on the high sky. The last one is just cutting off both left & right to have the largest bird in my series of shots last sat.
