Location : Mai Po 米埔
Machine : 1D2

今天在同一個塘已找不到昨天的赤麻鴨鴨了. 但找到一隻班嘴鴨...

這是 Burmese Spotbill，是Spot-billed Duck haringtoni 亞種，在香港的數量較少。與普遍的 Chinese Spotbill (zonorhyncha 亞種) 分辨方法是，牠的嘴基沒有延伸至面頰的深色紋，看來好似「o吾識笑」。 :P

Hi, Carrie. Thanks for the info. BTW, is that a female since it does not have a red patch on its forehead (by referencing the close species of poecilorhyncha)?
