Title: Killer shrike - this may upset some people Post by Neil on Oct 10th, 2005, 6:17pm I saw this shrike ( I presume it's a dusky shrike) with something in it's beak ,which I saw later looked like a little bird. Would this be usual behaviour for shrikes? Neil. 10th,October,2005 Lamma Island, Hong Kong,China. Title: Re: Killer shrike - this may upset some people Post by 鳥友A(BWA) on Oct 10th, 2005, 9:38pm Not surprising - shrikes are predators of insects and small animals. Some shrike species (e.g. Brown Shrike) are called butcher birds (http://www.encyclopedia.com/html/s1/shrike.asp). |
