Title: Re: Greenshank with mudskipper Post by Anguslau on Oct 17th, 2005, 7:48pm I also saw several Greenshanks doing that last week. Very strange! Does it mean that there is a shortage of food they normally like? ??? Obviously they did not succed since the mudskippers were too large. |

Title: Re: Greenshank with mudskipper Post by Captain on Oct 18th, 2005, 9:38am There should be some postings on this bulletin board about a Greenshank eating a fish last yr. So, eating mudskippers is not unexpected. Its long bill can catch a lot of things ranging from small worms to fish. We should gald that they could still catch this nutritious prey. It may indirectly indicate that mudskippers in Deep Bay are still abundant enough for top predators to explore. Captain |
