Title: Re: Sanderling amongst Curlew Sandpiper (record on Post by World Cup 2006 on Apr 30th, 2006, 3:01pm Could it be a juvenile judging from its upperpart feather with black centres and pale fringes. Furthermore, is it also a curlew sandpiper right at the centre of the photo standing in front of the Great Sand Plover? Its beak suggests so but the brownish feature on its head/nape contrasting from its upperpart looks different from the others. |

Title: Re: Sanderling amongst Curlew Sandpiper (record on Post by Neil on Apr 30th, 2006, 9:03pm It looks like another Curlew Sandpiper to me. It's amazing how many variations in color there is amongst them. Neil. |
