Seems like the fruit is Anti-febrile Dichroa/Chinese Quinine (常山)?

This plant was once used in Chinese medicine for the treatment of malaria 瘧疾 (and the only effective malaria medicine by that time in the whole world), but if you're healthy, you will just feel sick and vomit if you eat this.
