May I suggest Gadwall female - please note the bicolored orange and black bill

It's a female Mallard. The structure does not fit Gadwall, the eyestripe in front of the eye is too dark and the bill pattern fits Mallard. On Gadwall, the sides of the bill along most of the length is narrowly and distinctly orange.

Thanks a lot, Geoff - that explains a lot. May I ask for some elaborations about the breast pattern too, for I could not make out anything useful after looking at other photos, and allegedly they said these two have different breast patterns  ;)
