Dear all,

As Lee Do-han has sent the question to many ornithologists and banders in the region, you may be interested to know where the Black-faced Spoonbill was banded. I am forwarding Mr. Yu Yat-tung, the international coordinator of the Black-faced Spoonbill census based at the Hong Kong Bird Watching Society for your reference.

The bird was probably released in Hong Kong in January 2002.

This discovery further confirms that the DMZ at Korean peninsula should be the most important breeding ground of this endangered species.

Dear Do-han,

How are you too? Congratulations to your new findings.

A26 is received rings in Hong Kong. This bird was sick by avian botulism and picked up in the Mai Po Nature Reserve, and then released after treatment in winter 2001/02. The bird was aged as adult in Hong Kong already.

It is very nice to see the bird is $Bc`OG(Bully$Bc`Q(Brecovered as it can breed!

Regards,

Tung

Dear All,

How are you?

I executed a Black-faced spoonbill breeding site investigation from June 10 to June 12, 2003 in S. Korea.

The Black-faced spoonbill to adhere A26(Green,Yellow, Blue) rings to be the propagation was observed in the Seokdo. A26 was enlarging the 2 chicks currently well.

New breeding site not to be known was discovered also until now.

I need the basis data about A26(When, Where, Who did a set of rings attach do the accumulation? and age, sex etc.).

If you have the data I wish that You should send to me .

Cheers,

Do-Han Lee
